VOLKANO FEST IS BACK

After a long and difficult period marked by public allegations and legal proceedings, we are pleased to officially announce that VOLKANO FEST is returning.

On 21 November 2025, the High Court of Gasabo dismissed all charges against founder/creative director Rodrigue Iragena. The matter has been legally concluded.

The past year tested the resilience of the festival and the community around it. What began as serious public accusations led to the cancellation of the previous edition and significant disruption within our creative network. Throughout this time, we chose to respect the judicial process and allow the courts to determine the truth.

With clarity now restored, we move forward.

VOLKANO FEST was created to celebrate Rwandan creativity, cultural exchange, and the power of artistic expression. That mission remains unchanged. In fact, it is stronger.

We are currently implementing important structural and strategic improvements to ensure the festival’s growth, integrity, and long-term sustainability. A renewed chapter is underway — one rooted in transparency, resilience, and creative excellence.

To our artists, partners, sponsors, and the wider festival community: thank you for your patience, fairness, and belief in the work.

The work continues.
The vision remains.
And the festival returns.
